Stainless and Carbon Pipe Welder – Permanent Full Time

Ayr Welding is a multi-service trade company. We offer a wide range of services including pipe welding, custom fabrication, millwrighting, refrigeration piping, electrical services, equipment handling and piping system installations.
Position Available: We are currently looking for a Pipe welder with 3 years’ experience. This position will require daily travel to customer sites.

What can I expect in this role?
You will:
· Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
· Weld components in flat, vertical and overhead positions
· Examine workpieces for defects
· Ensure pieces meet specifications
· Recognize and avoid overheating parts to prevent warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of metal
· Chip or grind off excess weld, slag or spatter
· Remove rough spots from workpieces
· Review blueprints, sketches or specifications to determine operational methods or sequences
· Identify the best procedures to tackle problems
How do I qualify?
You have:
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to meet project deadlines
· Possession of a current TSSA 6G is an asset
· CWB GTAW ticket is required
· A valid “G” driver’s license
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
· Effective time management
· Ability to work independently and as a team
· Safety conscious
· Sound judgement
What is the working environment like?
Working Conditions
· Varied – You will be required to travel to different customer sites.
· Must be able to stand for long periods
· Ability to work extra hours to accommodate project deadlines
Shop Location:
· You will be based out of 406 Harmony Rd, Ayr, Ontario and will travel daily to customer sites.
Transportation:
· Public transit is not available
· A valid “G” driver’s license is required to travel to customer sites
This is a Permanent Fulltime position. A work week consists of 44 hours. Overtime is required occasionally. Pay will range from $25.00-$35.00/hour based on experience and ability.
