Stainless Steel Polisher/Tig Welder Job Description:

Our company is currently looking for a skilled and experienced Stainless Steel TIG Welder/Polisher to join our team. The candidate will carry out welding operations in accordance with appropriate TIG welding procedure specifications and will also assess welds to ensure they are clean, free of error and in accordance with relevant welding codes.

They must also work from written and verbal instructions, and standard procedures. Operate grinding machinery, hand tools, etc., to obtain even, smooth welds, remove surface scales, deburr parts and other surplus materials. Select wheels, speeds, and feeds for varying materials and finish requirements. Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment, and material.

Responsibilities:

  • The ability to read and understand safety rules, fabrication blueprints/drawings and manuals
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on safety
  • Using mainly TIG – Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), to fuse together Stainless-Steel metal segments.
  • Operate welding equipment (manual or semi-automatic), brazing and soldering equipment and metal shaping machines
  • Polishing Stainless Steel metals according to specifications
  • Ensuring that all tasks are performed in the allotted time provided and in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Clean and maintain the work area and equipment.
  • Fettling, Grinding, Deburring.
  • Polishing out weld seams.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
  • College or technical trade school in Tig welding is required
  • Minimum 4 years of Tig Welding experience
  • Experience with welding Stainless steel metals
  • Experience as a Stainless-Steel Polisher
  • Experience and ability to read and understand fabrication prints
  • Solid grasp of spoken and written English
  • Ability to work independently or with light supervision
  • Ability to follow specifications with a Keen eye for detail
  • Excellent planning, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience as a Metal Polisher in a metal company.

Pay will be based on experience (average of $28 to $32/hr)

Benefits: after 3 months’ probation

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 4:30pm

Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm (44hrs/wk.)

Location: Brampton, ON

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
