Stainless Steel Tig Welder/Fitter Job Description:
Our company is searching for a skilled and experienced Stainless Steel TIG Welder/Fitter who can carry out welding operations in accordance with appropriate TIG welding procedure specifications. The candidate will also assess welds to ensure they are clean, free of error and in accordance with relevant welding codes.
They will also operate tools such as arc welders, grinders, and buffing machines. The major qualities needed to succeed on this job include technical, measurement, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- The ability to read and understand technical documents, safety rules, fabrication blueprints/ drawings and manuals
- Lining up specific metal components using calipers, rulers, and clamp pieces
- Fit metal components as per provided blueprints/drawings and specifications, ensuring all tolerances are met
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on safety
- Using mainly TIG – Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), to fuse together Stainless-Steel metal segments
- Operate welding equipment (manual or semi-automatic), brazing and soldering equipment and metal shaping machines
- Operating angle grinders and other tools
- Polishing Stainless Steel metals according to specifications
- Ensuring that all tasks are performed in the allotted time provided and in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and company policies and procedures
- Basic maintenance of welding equipment.
- Following all safety and health procedures, identifying issues to avoid accidents and hazards
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
· College or technical trade school in Tig welding is required
· Minimum 4 years of Tig Welding experience
· Minimum 4 years of experience in structural welding preferred
· Experience with welding Stainless steel structural metals
· Experience and ability to read and understand fabrication prints
· Solid grasp of spoken and written English
· Ability to work independently or with light supervision
· Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills
· Manual Dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination
- Able to stand for extended periods of time and handle heavy loads (up to 50lbs)
Pay will be based on experience (average of $28 to $32/hr)
Benefits: after 3 months’ probation
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 4:30pm
Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm (44hrs/wk.)
