Job description

The DB Piping Group is looking for candidates to work in their Pipe (Douglas Barwick) plant. These companies have both been in operation for over 50 years in Brockville.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the operation of equipment that cuts, forms, welds, trims, cleans, and marks stainless steel into creating pipe for use in multiple industries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate heavy machinery for production to established production rates and quality requirements
  • Operate manual machines as required
  • Tig Welding
  • Use measuring instruments to maintain required quality control tolerances
  • Ability to hold required tolerances through machine offsets, tooling replacement including inserts
  • Complete other production-related tasks as directed by supervisor
  • Follow standard work practices and work instructions
  • Maintain good housekeeping, follow lean Manufacturing Process and 5S requirements
  • Report to the supervisor any damages or malfunction of the equipment and tools
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment
  • Adhere to company safe work policies and practices
  • Ability to work shift work
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

  • Minimum High School Degree or equivalent
  • 2-4 years experience working with large presses, shears or heavy machinery beneficial
  • Tig Welding experience
  • Ability to use various types of measuring equipment
  • Ability to use various types of hand and power tools
  • Crane and Lift Truck training an asset
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles an asset
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous work experience in an ISO certified company preferred
