Manager to complete- Describe in a short,transparent paragraph what a day in the life of this role might look like:
Employee will begin each day with a safetybriefing and morning huddle that will discuss job assignments.
Employee will work on wiring of both ourBaukasten generators or TLRI generators.
If others need his assistance, the employeewill provide direction to contractors or workers that don’t have his weldingexpertise.
The employee will verify the work as he goes byelectronically filling out quality instruction sheets.
The employee will enter in qualitynotifications for any materials that are not to drawing.
The employee will let the supervisor, planneror ME know if they are missing any critical components.
The employee will clean up at the end of hisshift and pass instructions on to the oncoming shift.
HowYou’ll Make an Impact
You may also be used to weld generator orexciter parts in other areas.
Develop Standard Operating Proceduredocuments for welding tasks
Provide feedback toengineering on how to make the drawings clearer as well as correct any missingor incorrect information.
Fill out all qualityinstruction sheets for the welding performed.
If the welders don’t have specific welding jobsto perform, they will need to be able to work and assist our other workers instators or other areas.
What You Bring
We need an employee that is extremelyproficient and reading and understanding welding drawings.
We need you to always lookafter your safety as well as all others working around you.
We need for you to bring driveand initiative to work efficiently.
Perform a wide variety of welding required toweld the Generator core to frame/bedplate and to weld the Generator to the railcar.
Become familiar with all tools and equipmentfor core assembly. Build and assemblecomplete cores, torque and tension bolts, and hardware per drawings.
Set up and operate welding equipment to performGMAW.
Set up and operate air-arc and manual burningequipment.
Fabricate single item part pieces andnon-permanent part pieces.

Qualifications

3-5 years ofvocational technical welding training required.
Must providegeneral guidance to others and train other employees
Key WorkingRelationships: Frequent inter-organizational and external contacts
Must be able tosuccessfully demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presentedabove.
Must be able topass the following welding qualification tests. GMAW 6G Butt Joint Open Root & 5F Fillet, both to the ISO standard.
Must completestandard aptitude tests. SMAW and GTAW certifications are required to make itthrough the progression steps.
- HS diploma orequivalent. Specialized skilltraining/certification may be required.
