We are currently seeking a Steel Cutter to join our team. Reporting to the Manufacturing Coordinator Lead, the Steel Cutter is responsible for cutting various materials (steel, aluminum, etc.) to tight tolerances, to be supplied to the Machine and Fabrication Shop.

Located in Barrie, Ontario, we are a specialized industrial engineering firm focused on designing complex automation with a blue-chip customer base since 1971. Key Duties & Responsibilities:

– Work in compliance with all company Health and Safety and Administrative policies and procedures

– Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assembly, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, technical drawings and procedural manuals

– Layout of components for cutting to prescribed tolerances

– Set up and operate vertical, horizontal and automatic saws

– Select mechanical measuring, checking and layout tools and devices

– Execute measuring, checking and layout operations

– Ability to use hand tools such as grinders, torches, and plasma cutters

– Operating metal shaping machines such as Iron Workers and other metal straightening and bending machines

– Ability to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach above and below waist

– Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs

– Practice excellent housekeeping skills in work area

Experience and Technical Skills:

  • High School Diploma as a minimum
  • Computer knowledge – MS Outlook and MS Excel
  • Strong mathematical and mechanical skills
  • Forklift and Bridge Crane experience is an asset
