Overview

Kent Metal Fabrications Ltd. is a growing Steel Fabrication Company in Brampton in need of a Steel erection Supervisor/Foreman with at least 5 years of experience within the industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the steel erection crew, ensuring that all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Develop and implement a project-specific erection plan, including erection sequence, crane layout, and logistics planning.
  • Schedule manpower and equipment resources to ensure that work is performed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure that all required materials and equipment are available and delivered to the job site on time.
  • Manage the quality control program for steel erection work, including inspections and testing of materials, welds, and bolted connections.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring that all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and inspections to identify and correct potential hazards and unsafe practices.
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance to the steel erection crew, ensuring that all workers are properly trained and certified to perform their assigned tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of work performed, including daily reports, time sheets, and inspection reports.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that project goals are met.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in steel erection, including experience in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of steel erection techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a crew of steel erection workers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and be able to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • All required tickets.

Physical Demands: The Steel Erection Supervisor/Foreman must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, work at heights, and work in all weather conditions. The ability to operate heavy equipment, including, forklifts, and aerial lifts, telehandler etc.

Working Conditions: The Steel Erection Supervisor/Foreman will work primarily outdoors on construction sites, and may be exposed to hazardous conditions, including heights, heavy equipment, and extreme weather conditions. This role may require working weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
