JOB TITLE: Steel Forming Operator

REPORTS TO: Feris Production Manager

JOB TYPE: Permanent part-time and full-time hourly (20-40 hrs/wk)

PRIMARY JOB:

To operate & maintain Feris’ steel forming machine(s):

  • Accuracy – within Feris’ QC parameters;
  • Safety – in compliance with Feris’ Policies & Procedures including the Manufacturer’s Operating Manual, Industry and OHSA standards;
  • Machines may include: shear, press brake, iron worker, compound mitre saw, and welding equipment.

SECONDARY JOB:

  • Functional “fill in” operation in at least one of 3 other production areas (EPS forming; product assembly, shipping/receiving);
  • As needed in other Departments.

TEAM PARTICIPATION AND SUPPORT:

Feris’ Production team with:

  • Ongoing production efficiencies;
  • Expert knowledge for operation and maintenance of equipment in primary job responsibilities.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Hourly rate range: $16.75-$28/hr;
  • Extended health Benefits;
  • Vacation: 3 weeks (1 week to be taken during annual production shutdown).

QUALIFICATIONS (Note: for the right individual support may be provided for any qualification deficiencies; training will be provided for any specific tool/equipment requirements):

  • Team player, task oriented, able to work under timelines, self disciplined, drive to excel, able to adapt to change/ unforeseen modifications, learner;
  • Software competency in CAD 2D software, CNC steel forming software including the ability to self-directed learning with new programs/machine language; and
  • Gr 12 education certificate and Certification in Metal Forming and/or Cold Rolled training
