Job Description:

Great opportunity for a skilled Welder for a stable, long-term employment opportunity, with benefits, working at a new, state-of-the-art plant producing structural steel components for commercial construction. The ideal Welder will have a specialty school welding certificate and carbon steel welding experience. The plant is located in 7500 Republic Dr. Groveland, FL 34736 . This is an exciting opportunity not only to join an innovative, growing, family owned company, but also to help configure an efficient operation from the ground up. Responsibilities of the Welder for Structural Steel. Help configure an efficient operation from the ground up. Receive, understand and execute work instructions and follow proper welding procedures. Move material to and from the work area. Move welding equipment to material when necessary. Position component parts on a table held by a fixture, jib, forklift, overhead crane, or manually. Tack when required. Weld on ground level, above ground, and below ground, in any required position. Expected to assist with other shop functions as requested, such as cleaning and coating assemblies, operating a forklift, operating an overhead crane, moving stock by various means, conducting dimensional layout, loading and unloading stock, and operating a truck with a clean insurable commercial driver license, among others.

Requirements of the Welder for Structural Steel:

  • able read blueprints a plus
  • a basic knowledge of weld symbols
  • GMAW, FCAW a must!
  • Carbon steel, Structural steel
  • Ability to weld vertical, flat welds in accordance to AWS D1.1
  • Ability to read tape measures and angle finders
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate various shop tools

Experience:
