Overview
- Welders/Fitters: Welders and Fitters at Midwest Structural are required to fit and weld structural components to specifications requested by the customer. These specifications will be explained to workers in detail before starting processes by their supervisor. Welders are required to be competent in the following processes.
Physical Demands:
– Bending / Carrying/moving / Climbing / Kneeling/squatting / Hand and arm use / Holding / Lifting / Pulling / Pushing / Reaching / Repetitive motion / Shifting material / Sitting / Standing / Tilting head and neck / Twisting / Walking
- Tasks: § Forklift Operation, if certified
- Handling Compressed Gas Cylinders
- Hoisting and Rigging § Horizontal Bandsaw Operation
- Housekeeping
- Magnetic Drill Operation
- Manual Material Handling
- Mobile Equipment Inspections
- Overhead Crane Operation, if certified
- OxyAcetylene Processes/Cutting Torch
- Plate Clamp Operation
- Portable Grinding Operation
- Radiograph Operation
- Roller Operation Using Power, Hand and Air Tools
- Welding applications; ACA Gouging, MIG Welding
- All employees are required to follow the Midwest Structural’s Health and Safety Management System and applicable OHS legislation
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $29.00-$33.00 per hour
