Overview

FUNCTION: Perform any of the following duties to raise, place and unite girders, columns and other structural members to form completed structures.

  • Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
  • Fasten steel members to cable hoist, using chain, cable, or rope.
  • Signal workers operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel members.
  • Pull, push or pry steel members into final position.
  • Align rivet holes in member with corresponding holes by driving drift pins or handle of wrench through holes.
  • Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of members.
  • Bolt and align members to keep them in position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
  • Previous experience as iron worker/connector.
  • Ability to climb up to 30 feet on iron stabs, beams.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
  • Knowledge, use of hand tools.
  • Work safely and follow all established OSHA safety regulations
  • OSHA 10 required within 90 days of hire

MUST be able to travel overnight within the state of FL

Pay is based on experience/skill level
