Full Job Description

Are you an experienced Structural Welder looking for a great company? Environmental Air Systems is one of the leading industrial HVAC engineering, manufacturing, and construction companies in the southeastern United States. We are growing rapidly and looking to add skilled Structural Welders and Structural Welder Helpers to our Manufacturing Department. In this role you will work both independently and on a team with minimal supervision and collaborate with fellow manufacturing and office employees.

SCHEDULE:

  • 1st shift: 6:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday
  • NEW SHIFT ADDED – RATE INCREASE 2nd shift: 5:00pm-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday

LOCATION: High Point Manufacturing Facility

STRUCTURAL WELDER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Experience welding structural steel members using (mig) wirefeed processes
  • Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements
  • Understand and follow proper safety instructions
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experienced in 3f and 4f position welding
  • Other duties may be added as needed by supervision

EDUCATION:

This Position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED or related experience as a certified structural steel welder as determined by the plant manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS:

Specific Structural Welding Skills:

  • Ability to pass a 3f and 4f weld test using GMAW process on 3/8“ material
  • Good verbal communication skills with other employees
  • Positive attitude
  • Open minded with a vision for continuous improvement
  • Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements
  • Ability to read blueprints

Specific Physical Skills:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs when necessary
  • Ability to step over and work on top of fixture that are 28 inches off the floor when necessary
