SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

FABRICATE, ASSEMBLE, AND INSTALL STRUCTURAL STEEL PRODUCTS SUCH AS BEAMS, PIPES, PLATES FOR OFFSHOE DRILLING JACKETS AND DECKS. Persons holding this position MUST HAVE THE ABILITY to perform a variety of duties including BUT NOT LIMITED TO the following: (1) Check for and repair leaks in cable, hoses and connections: (2) Read blueprints, section and plan drawings, and weld symbols; (3) Cut PLATE, PIPE, and BEAMS using cutting torch; (4) Lay out and Fit PIPE, BEAMS, DECKS AND JACKETS; (5) Build structures to tolerance, shoot levels, and perform cross checks; (6) Use come-a-longs, chain falls, and other industry tools and equipment, and install, use, and remove stop plates, dogs, and pad eyes; (7) Use crane signals and perform own rigging; (8) Read and derive measurements, dimensions, and quantity of material needed to fabricate a structure; (9) Frame skids, bends, and elevations for jackets; (10) Climb and work in high places that may exceed 200 feet in height, and in confined spaces; (11) Maintain good company image and courteous manner when interacting with employees, clients, and customers; (12) Participate in the Company’s QHS&E Management system through quality performance, through actions that safeguard the environment, and through actions that enhance health and safety in the workplace; (13) Adhere and comply with all company and OSHA safety rules and regulations; (14) Be familiar with all safety equipment; (15) Responsible for keeping work areas clean and in orderly condition; (16) Other duties as assigned. **BOTH DAY AND NIGHT SHIFT AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED as CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT** **OVERTIME IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT** **ALL APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT TO AND PASS A BURNING AND BLUEPRINT READING TEST. Persons holding this position must have the ability to perform basic structural fitting functions and processes (reading blueprints and drawings, perform structural layouts, build steel structures to specified tolerances, use a cutting torch and other industry tools and equipment).** **Required to STAND, WALK, SIT, USE HANDS to finger, handle, feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear and taste or smell; regularly lift and/or move a minimum of 50 lbs; wear full body harness, work at elevated heights and in confined spaces or on scaffolding; have knowledge and ability to use rigging and crane signals. **To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. MUST submit to and pass a burning and blueprint reading test.** Heavy Industrial Structural Welder: Join metallic components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment and techniques in the construction of buildings and structures. Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and complete welds. Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques to meet project specifications. Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts. Cuts and grinds parts, using hand and power tools such as portable grinder, hand file, torch, and arc welding equipment. Must pass project specific weld test. Other duties as assigned.
