Structural Welder

Primary Responsibilities and duties

  • Perform welding work involving a high degree of precision
  • Weld various processes FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW
  • Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine, and other industry machines, tools and equipment
  • Make welding repairs and substandard welds

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma, or general education development (GED) diploma
  • 3 – 5 years welding work-related experience and/or training is required.
  • Must preheat and weld metal components as specified by blue prints, welding symbols, job specifications, or welding procedures, must demonstrate proficiency in welding processes
  • Must pass a written and/or practical skills test
  • expected to climb and work in high places that may exceed 200 feet in height and in confined spaces
  • Must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
