The Team Lead is a resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice. The Team Lead is responsible for knowing approved procedures for workers to follow and for ensuring that they comply. The Team Lead encourages team effort and supportive attitudes between team members to achieve production schedules whilst complying with Safety and Quality standards.

Education/Experience

  • Grade 12 or GED
  • 3+ years of direct work experience in a manufacturing environment (A combination of experience and education may be considered)
  • Proficient use of computers with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Practical knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques

Accountabilities

  • Support Supervisor in delegation and planning of work
  • Clear communication and feedback to supervisor of any problems that may occur
  • Provide guidance to the team based on management directions
  • Act as a temporary supervisor when Supervisor is away
  • Assist Supervisor in new employee evaluations
  • Coordinate and oversee assignments and special projects as required
  • Ensure compliance with all Väderstad policies and standards
  • Motivate team members through the setting of clear expectations and by leading by example
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement
  • Ensure proper use of safety equipment and adhere to emergency procedures should they be necessary
  • Ensure that safety checks are carried out on all equipment operated throughout the production process, as well as monitoring the activities of team members during their shift
  • Ensure compliance with established quality assurance procedures
  • Direct team members and assign work as required to achieve the production schedule.
  • Responsible to train all team members to ensure competency in completing their tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Achieve production goals, and all key performance indicators related to safety, quality productivity, and efficiency.
  • Facilitate problem solving initiatives when defects are discovered during the process
  • Maintain a safe, clean compliant workplace for all employees and perform area audits at set intervals as required
  • Work cross functionally with other departments and provide assistance and resources where required to achieve overall targets

Work Conditions

  • Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
  • Working in manufacturing plant environment.
  • Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required
