Overview

Summary / Objective:

The role of a Teamster is to operate the yard and warehouse. Their primary tasks are to handle the products, load/unload trucks and maintain the equipment. This position could also include TIG welding / Aluminum. Depending on the company’s needs, Shoring Teamsters may work in the Specialties yard and warehouse and vice versa.

Duties and Responsibilities: ·

Identify the product names, locations and specific handling requirements for all products in both the yard and warehouse.

· Pull orders and prepare for shipping.

· Load/Unload products onto and off of trailers and trucks as needed.

· Receive incoming products and provide appropriate paperwork to the shoring desk.

· Maintain the yard and warehouse in a clean an organized manner. Preform daily ‘housekeeping’ tasks as needed.

· Maintain accurate counts on all documents, this includes all shipping and return paperwork.

· Communicate and with customers and co-workers in a professional manner.

· Work with drafting, sales and City Desk as needed regarding the status of all equipment orders, coordinating efficient and accurate order fulfillment.

· Identify, sort, count and inspect returned equipment.

· Report quantity and condition of returned equipment.

· Clean, repair and maintain rental equipment fleet.

· Repair and weld aluminum forming pans.

· Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent hazards and injuries in the workplace. Prepare the appropriate reports as needed.

· Perform other duties deemed necessary to support the company’s business operations.

Work Environment: This position exposure to mechanical equipment and outside conditions that may include inclement weather, extreme heat or cold. The employee will need to navigate uneven walking surfaces and to identify and avoid hazardous conditions.

Physical Demands: Maximum unassisted is 80 lbs. with average lift less than 25 lbs. High physical effort required to stand, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, twist, turn, reach and walk on uneven surfaces. Ability to operate forklift as well as hand and power tools. Be capable of walking around yard and warehouse, climbing ladders and stairs.

Position Type: This is a full-time position with normal business hours Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week. This position may require occasional overtime and weekend work.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High School Diploma and two years related experience and/or training preferred.

General understanding of industry practice and construction knowledge preferred.

Ability to perform basic mathematic skills is required.

Forklift Certification / experience.

Aluminum / TIG welding experience preferred.

Pay: $19.00 – $31.78 per hour
