Job Description

Welder – located in South Houston, close to Hobby Airport

Responsibilities of the Temp Welder include, but are not limited to:

  • Mig, tig, and stick welding
  • Pipe, steel, and stainless steel welding
  • Pipe fitting
  • GTAW , FCAW, GMAW
  • Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job
  • Plans details of working procedure, tools and material requirements
  • Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals
  • Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment
  • Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded
  • Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts
  • Builds up worn or defective surfaces
  • Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly
  • Structural fitting, channel/ square tubing coping beams

Qualifications of the Temp Welder include, but are not limited to:

  • 5 years of welding experience. Must have GTAW , FCAW, GMAW. Will be tested on all 3.
  • Familiar with iron worker, plasma cutter, pipe threader, and grinders
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints

Physical Demand: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.

Working Conditions: Shop Environment

Training/Certifications: N/A

Shift Time/Overtime: Night Shift and will train on days for a few weeks – Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm and some Saturdays 11:30am-6:30pm

Travel: N/A

Education: HS Diploma or GED
