Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

Test Facility Trades Associate

Job Responsibilities:
Work from work orders, drawings, samples and broad instructions from supervisor, working lead, higher labor grade associate or engineers to assist in fabrication or repair test area related equipment.

Operate shop equipment and heavy machinery to perform somewhat complicated construction, modification, repair, cleaning and installation of test area related equipment.

Utilize the computer work order system and maintain computerized records and reports to audit analyze and compute data to ensure compliance with department and customer procedures and requirements.

Perform a wide variety of somewhat complicated welding operations on parts, fixtures, rigs, and various test equipment of diverse materials using Tungsten Inert Gas, Shielded Metal Arc and Metal Inert Gas Welding. Perform soldering and brazing operations.

Select processes and set up equipment to perform cutting operations using oxygen acetylene rig, plasma rig and arc gouging.

Work with supervision, engineering, working lead and higher labor grade employees to determine requirements for the fabrication of various items to support test maintenance and construction operations including hoses, lift equipment, and special item fabricated from samples.

Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on all types of equipment including heavy machinery, lifting devices, high pressure systems, test are special test equipment.

Troubleshoot, overhaul and repair complicated test area/ related area equipment including the design and fabrication of special tooling to overhaul and repair compressors, actuators, pumps, valves, cryogenic systems, lifting devices, hydraulic systems, vacuum systems, electromechanical devices and other components, systems, and devices.

Comply with P&W specifications and procedures to align rotating and non-rotating equipment. Perform failure analysis and devise special tooling to remove, install and align rigs and various test equipment.

Perform cleaning operations following P&W specifications and Test Support Instructions, and maintain equipment and process utilized in cleanroom operations.

Comply with EH&S regulations and program requirements to ensure safe working conditions and to preserve a healthy environment. Utilize the ACE tools to investigate the root cause and corrective actions, streamline processes, mistake-proof and maintain a neat and orderly work environment.

Associates classified as Mechanic/Welder or Welder/Mechanic must work to complete mechanic Qualifications.

This is a 2nd shift opening

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

Must have 2+ years work related experience in Welding andor Aerospace, automotive or commercial experience as a mechanic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fabrication Background, welding, bending, stainless steel, and carbon steel
  • Welding, Mig Tig Fab, Stick, soldering, brazing, metal arc
  • Working on or with pumps and valves with high-pressure gases
  • 2 + years trades’ school
  • training as apprentice or military equivalency

Education

Certification

High School diploma or GED Preferred

Preferred: 2 + years trades’ school training as apprentice or military equivalent.
