Job Description:

THERMAL SPRAY WELDER Our client is needing a thermal spray operator for immediate placement. Tasks will include but not limited to: • Prepare, masks, and applies metal spray coatings to parts. • Performs equipment maintenance as needed. • Set up and operate various types of manual, semi-automatic and/or robotic spray systems to apply metallized coatings to parts. • Operate automation equipment with some capability for minor adjustments to programs. • Reads and understands 2D mechanical drawings / blueprints Able to perform all aspects of metal spray, including combustion, wire arc and thermal spray functions. Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements. In addition, Thermal Spray Operator reads and understands shop routers, work instructions, customer prints and drawings. Inspects surfaces visually for defects and compliance with specifications using micrometers, calipers, or related devices prior to and after applying coating. Inspects parts to verify all characteristics before signing the router and forwarding to subsequent operations or shipment. Performs machine inspections. Requirements: • High School diploma or greater required. • Skill requirements: Plasma Spraying (PSP) and/or High Velocity Oxy Fuel (HVOF) experience required. Spray & Fuse hard facing (FLSP) and/or Oxyfuel Gas Welding (OFW) experience a plus. • Requires 2-3 years of on the job-related experience • Must be able to understand basic manufacturing drawing dimensions. • M-F 5am to 1:30pm with 30-minute lunch break. Overtime as required, including Saturdays. • Pay based on experience • Dress code: PPE required • Reports to shop foreman. • Works under moderate supervision. • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day. Regularly required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. • Basic personal tools and tool box required in the performance of general setup and maintenance activities. • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. • Great company benefits available upon FT hire as an employee of client after completion of probationary period(s) • Pass Drug Screen/random drug screens • Pass national background check Call or submit your resume with updated contact information so you can be contacted for interview.
