The Position:

We are seeking an experienced Tig/Mig Welder. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work efficiently.

The Tig/Mig Welder will assemble and weld metal parts on production line, using welding equipment, requiring only a limited knowledge of welding techniques.

Looking for qualified candidates in the Ennis, TX market.

Essential Functions

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.
  • Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
  • Examine workpieces for defects, and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
  • Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
  • Check grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments.

EDUCATION

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

No prior experience necessary

Skills

  • Ability to learn MiTek’s Internal System
  • Estimate materials and time required to complete various tasks
  • Read tape measures and angle finders
  • Math skills including fractions and angles
  • Knowledge of the welding process and equipment
  • Interpret blueprints as well as receive verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control
  • Knowledge of machines and hand tools and the ability to use the appropriate one safely

Work Environment

Manufacturing setting, loud, varied temperature, and fast paced.
