Overview
Job Summary:
Responsible for manufacturing ultra-clean orbital weld assemblies in a Class 100 cleanroom environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to perform TIG weld within standards of 1/8 to 24” inches pipe and tubes
Perform all functions involved with the set-up of TIG welding cells
Review drawings and determine the best method to fabricate parts, including which machines, tools, and fixtures
Perform dimensional inspections of fabricated parts
Advanced capability for using measuring equipment (tape measure, framing square, straight edge, calipers, laser level).
Inspects completed work and performs simple rework as required
Examines welds for completeness and compliance with established specifications
Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures
Set-up and operate TIG machines and orbital machines to perform assigned metal fabrication duties
Weld to specified weld symbols
Work off blueprints and other specification orders
Maintain machines and tooling relative to the operation of the weld cell
Inspect final product, ensuring defined quality parameters are met
Meet daily production schedules; maintain acceptable levels of on-time performance utilizing proper equipment
Prepare proper documentation for reporting labor, orders and rejected material
Performs daily, routine and preventative maintenance on welding equipment.
Follows all safety rules and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Manual Mig and/or Tig welding
Able to read and understand blueprints
Strong mathematic skills
Experience using clamps orbital power supply and various weld head and measuring implements
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Possess a high level of self-initiative and dependability
Able to balance, manage and prioritize tasks
Able to work within a team environment, maintain a ‘can-do’ attitude
Perform manual welding using Mig and/or Tig welding equipment to stainless steel preferred
Basic computer skills.
Mechanically inclined with a fair level of dexterity to construct simple assemblies or parts.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Some technician coursework and/or AA technical degree/equivalent preferred
Experience Requirement:
10-year experience in a manufacturing environment or advanced training required
5 years of Metal Fabrication
5 years of TIG welding of thin wall aluminium, stainless, steel, etc.

Environmental Exposure:
Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
Subject to noise levels.
Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals.
