Position Summary

A Journeyman serves as a qualified craftsman in designated work centers and is responsible for the production assigned by a designated Lead and/or the Assistant Foreman. A Journeyman is tasked with meeting production schedules at or below the quoted labor cost and for producing the product at established quality levels for assigned areas.

General Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Strong planning and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to change direction based on both internal and external needs. Committed to attaining personal labor and material cost goals on a per-project basis. Working knowledge of the manufacturing process as it pertains to the production of Steelhead’s product. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all Steelhead work centers and departments. Well organized, detail-oriented. Skilled craftsman in trained area of expertise.

Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

· Quality welding capability using TIG with thin gauge stainless, sanitary piping and carbon utilizing all available welding techniques.

· Capability to fit machines using Steelhead developed techniques as well as general fitting techniques.

· Capability to read and interpret shop-level drawings as presented by Steelhead engineering.

· Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and techniques for specified work centers at Steelhead.

· Ability to teach skills and techniques to others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
