Lifesaving Systems manufactures most of the helicopter and maritime rescue equipment used by the U.S. military and others around the world. We are looking for an experienced GTAW (TIG) welder to work in our metal fabrication shop making our stainless steel and titanium rescue equipment. This position is full time from 7:30 to 5:00 Monday through Thursdays and half days (7:30 to 11:30) every Friday.

AWS certification is a plus but not required.

Job Purpose:

Fabricate lifesaving components in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and samples provided.

Duties:

  • Operate, set up and maintain GTAW Welding equipment.
  • Develops welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; studying metals; determining appropriate welding techniques.
  • Collects equipment and materials by studying specifications and component requirements; ordering supplies and gases.
  • Fabricates components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces; setting-up and measuring assemblies; selecting appropriate method.
  • Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds.
  • Documents actions by completing records.
  • Supervise the work of less experienced welders/fabricators and counsel junior welders on welding skills and quality.
  • Maintains safe work environment by following procedures; complying with all workspace regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

Welding and Fabrication, Supply Management, Documentation Skills, Basic Safety, Equipment Maintenance, Power Tools, Lifting, Analyzing Information, Dependability. Must be able to read instructions written in English.
