Trout Creek Lumber and Building Systems is looking to for a highly professional, detail oriented Timber Framer/Fabricator, at our Kamloops operations. We currently are producing high quality wood product such as Tongue and Groove, Wood Siding, Flooring, Furniture and Railing Components, Live Edge Wood Products etc.

Job Expectations:

  • Layout, fabrication, finish and erection of timber frames;
  • Reads and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications;
  • Performs precision layout of timber frames for structural frames, decorative features, stair systems and other timber frame applications;
  • Fabricates, assembles and finishes timbers using shop equipment, portable hand and power tools;
  • Assures materials and products meet quality standards and job specifications;
  • Maintains safe operations, tools and equipment;
  • Inspects and maintains job materials and supplies as required for assigned tasks;
  • Performs the erection of timber frames, conventional rough carpentry tasks, and finish carpentry tasks;
  • Supervises crew members and apprentices;
  • Provides on-the-job training to crew members and apprentices.

Skills & Qualifications:

· Knowledge and demonstrated experience of timber frame structures and components

· Experience with various aspects of post & beam, knee braces, timber connections and joinery

· Demonstrated ability to read shop drawings and develop fabrication details

· Experience with sanding, staining, plaining and packaging

· Dedicated, punctual, excellent attendance and enthusiastic

· Ability to work independently or in a group

· Physically fit and able to perform some labor intensive duties (50 lbs.)

· Personal integrity, sense of responsibility, commitment to safety, and good organizational skills

· Valid drivers’ License and own transportation

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
