Overview
We are currently recruiting for an upcoming project in Conklin, AB for the winter months of 2022/2023. The Trade / Welder Helper is responsible for providing assistance to the Tradesperson by performing duties, such as supplying or holding materials or tools and cleaning the work area and equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with trade functions.
Operate small power tools for the preparation of material (such as a power grinder).
Set up work as required.
Perform general housekeeping duties.
Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
Various safety tickets/certificates as required depending on project.
Experience
No previous work experience required.
3 months of experience in a construction helper position preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of pipeline construction industry preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints preferred.
Ability to concentrate on detailed work.
Good vision and hand-eye coordination.
Manual dexterity.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is field/project based and often works within remote project locations. Travel and/or living in temporary accommodations is be required. Able to work a 6 days on / 1 day off, 12-hour shift for the duration of the project.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Trade Helper reports to the Trade Foreman. The position has no supervisory duties.
