Job Summary

Perform all functions of tube bending & welding ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. Be able to work with others. Be a team player with good communication skills and writing skills. Have an understanding of maintenance and interpretation of job scopes.

Essential Functions

Set up, adjust and operate tube bending machinery and equipment to bend structural metal pipe, tube, bar, etc. to specifications.

Fabricate directly from drawings, samples, or instructions without supervision.

Select all layouts, templates, or check fixtures.

Develop layouts from drawings, samples or instructions.

Select all tools, dies, and plane gauge requirements.

Check bent parts to drawing specification and tolerance using proper measurement and inspect equipment.

Inspect end product from bending operation to ensure accuracy maintain and operate tube bending equipment.

Identify, properly tag and remove non-conforming materials.

Complete all required paperwork in a correct and timely manner.

Perform first article runs and communicate recommendations as appropriate.

Operate hoist, cart caddy, fork lift, and manual pallet jack.

Communicate with other departments as necessary.

Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

Performs additional duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Workers should be able to: Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy; make decisions based on measurable criteria; and visualize objects in three-dimensions from plans and drawings. Physically, workers must be able to: Work easily and skillfully with hands; lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; see well (either naturally or with correction); climb and maintain balance on high ladders and scaffolds; and stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Working Conditions and Hazards

Knowledge of Industrial & commercial safety, General Basic plus Safety, LOTO, working overhead, confined space entry, basic electricity safety.

Do You Qualify

Education

A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Other Experience

Computer competency including Outlook, Word, Excel. Basic understanding of HVAC industry terminology a plus. Welding a plus. This position requires at least three years’ experience in a similar industrial/technical position.
