Overview

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform day to day assignments via work orders and/or instructions from Foreman to ensure timely and accurate completion and notify Foreman of any equipment needing repair or replacement.

Ensure the proper operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic brake systems and electrical systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry guidelines.

Overhaul and repair heavy duty diesel, gasoline and electric engines, hydraulic valves, transmissions, and motors.

Determine appropriate welding equipment, supplies, materials, and method based on required specifications.

Repair and fabricate equipment and other components by use of high heat emitting tools and techniques including, but not limited to; MIG/TIG welding, flame-cutting, burning, and other hand welding equipment.

Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment in order to minimize down time.

Locate sources of problems by using precision measuring equipment, testing equipment, hoists, lifts, cranes, and hand/power tools.

Dismantle mechanical equipment in need of repair and reassemble equipment ensuring proper operation.

Assist external service vendors and contractors as required in completing their contractual obligations in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.

Comply with established inventory, equipment distribution, equipment operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the efficient, effective, and safe operation of the department.

Possess strong knowledge of hand tool, diagnostic equipment, and power tool use.

Interface all equipment repairs in harmony with other internal functional departments as required minimizing disruption and maximizing effectiveness.

Adhere to the policies regarding MCCNO and departmental procedures.

Experience

Required

Welding, metal cutting, and burning experience required

Preferred

Professional welding certification preferred.

4 – 6 years: related experience and/or training in welding or a convention and/or large multi-purpose facility preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
