About the Opportunity

Our company is seeking Weld Inspector(s) that will be responsible for inspecting welds at various stages within our welding build processes. The Inspector will utilize and follow work instructions to ensure quality acceptance of weldments and fabrications. Standard weld inspection tools such as fillet gauges, and flashlights are few examples of tools used, in day to day inspection tasks. Nonconformances found will be documented on our forms following our quality processes.

Benefits

Base hourly starting rate is $26.89

In addition to your rate, all bargaining unit employees are also entitled to cost of living allowance per hour and an additional $0.40 per hour for participation in the Company’s structured improvement program

GDLS-C provides all required equipment to perform work

Quarterly performance bonus

Shift premium is offered at 5% for afternoon and 10% for midnight shifts

GDLS-C offers a company paid, comprehensive benefit package for a range of health and dental services for you and your eligible dependents as well as basic life insurance and supplemental life insurance

Bargaining unit employees are enrolled in a defined contribution pension plan. There is a required 4% contribution with a 4% company match and up to an additional 2% voluntary contribution which provides another 4% match from the company.

Position Requirements:
Required Qualifications

CWB Certified CSA W178.2 Level I or AWS QC1 CAWI

Comprehension and application of CSA W59 or AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Code

Must be able to interpret Engineering Rendering Drawings

Previous Quality and/or Inspection background experience

Assets

CWB Certified CSA W178.2 Level II or AWS QC1 CWI

LPI/MPI Certification / Experience

Red Seal Welding Certification or Experienced Certified Welder

GD&T – Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance Experience
