Overview

As the Weld Tech Trainer you will perform welding and technical support such as welding process troubleshooting, improvement, and inspector training. The role will build effective relationships with leaders and team members across the Operations, Weld and QA functions and have a strong focus on our foundational “Do Work, Love Strong” culture.

This position is located in Mt. Pleasant, Tx.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding training in the shop or classroom setting to Welding Inspectors while creating a standardized training plan.
  • Troubleshoot welding technique and routine equipment issues.
  • Perform routine tasks such as maintaining welder continuity, welding equipment calibration, and flux over logs.
  • Evaluate, propose, and implement welding process improvements to increase welding efficiency and quality.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years FCAW, SAW, and SMAW welding experience
  • Proficient using various weld inspection tools such as amp/volt/wire feed/gas flow meters, fillet weld gages, undercut gages, etc.
  • Welding related Associate Degree and AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) desired
  • Able to read and comprehend welding symbols, welding procedure specifications, work instructions, drawings bill materials, etc.
  • Working knowledge of AWS welding procedures specifications and weld filler materials and base materials.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
