Business Unit:
The Consumable Manufacturing Department is responsible for the production / manufacturing of all consumable products. The Business Unit is expected to contribute to the company’s overall manufacturing efforts by executing progressive production initiatives and processes, while ensuring the safety of all plant personnel. The Consumable Manufacturing Department is further responsible for production and product quality through the application of good manufacturing practices and Continuous Improvement strategies in conjunction with the ongoing business activities and priorities of the company … while meeting customer requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
· To weld plates according to the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) W48, and American Welding Society (AWS) codes.

· To weld plates according to the Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), and Det Norske Veritas (DNV-GL) for type approvals of marine products.

· To assist in the testing and documentation for all welding electrodes and comply with the applicable Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and/or American Welding Society (AWS) codes.

· To assist in the testing and documentation for welding electrode approvals for Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV-GL) for the Type Approvals of marine products.

· To maintain accurate and up-to-date records with respect to all products, testing, customer records, modifications and revisions.

· To evaluate, source, troubleshoot, document and resolve technical problems and concerns expressed by customers, distributors and company Sales Representatives (e.g. weld failures, gas, electrode, wire, physical properties, strength levels and machinery).

· To liaise and collaborate with Senior Managers, Line Managers and non-management staff at all levels in a supporting capacity on all matters pertaining to:

Welding AWS, CSA W48, LR, ABS, DNV-GL plates

Testing (including mechanical and chemistry)

Evaluation

Analysis

· To participate co-operatively as an employee within the company Global Performance Management Program/Merit Rating System.

· To actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the department, as well as, other departments across the company.

· To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.

· To fully abide and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of nature resources and the Health & Safety of all employees.

Minimum Education Requirement:

· High School diploma or equivalent (2 year Community College Program desirable)

Minimum Experience & Training Requirement:

· At least 3 years relevant experience (practical welding skills required for GMAW and/or FCAW)
