KTH Shelburne is now accepting applications for Weld Technicians. KTH Shelburne is a leader in automotive frame components. The weld technician is responsible to operate and maintain daily activities in the Weld department while supporting the Weld production team with equipment Downtime and short stops. The Weld Technician will also identify and counter measure efficiency issues.

Weld Technician Job Duties:

  • 3M/4M verification and countermeasure
  • Modify or Troubleshoot basic operations of robotic systems, change hardware, single axis master, robot zoning
  • Understand manufacturing line safety system and proper safeguarding of equipment
  • Understand all key quality points and quality alerts for each process
  • Understand resistance weld theory and factors that contribute to non-conforming welds
  • Support Quality Control group with jig adjustments and understand datum and net surface purposes
  • Monitor PLC operations through HMI
  • Report, analyze and create work orders for short stop and Efficiency issues
  • Basic maintenance repairs on fixtures and robots
  • Ensure all Associates are following proper machine safety procedures
  • Be able to load and operate all lines in your section

What we look for:

  • Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma, Electrical Engineering Technician Diploma, Robotic Technician Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience or more working in an automotive or equivalent industry
  • Applicable knowledge and/or education in the automotive manufacturing sector an asset
  • Applicable knowledge and or/experience operating robotic weld equipment
