We’re currently recruiting 2nd Year and 3rd Year Welder Apprentices – invest in your future and join our team! You will work closely with a group of Journeyperson Welders on a job that fits your strengths, interests, and career goals.

This is a local position in Fort McMurray, you must have your own accommodation and transportation. It is located at our Town shop in Saprae Creek Industrial Park. The shift rotation is seven (7) on, seven (7) off, 12 hour rotating day and night shifts. Hours, schedules, and locations may change from time to time due to operational and training requirements.

What will you get exposure to?

  • Working alongside and observing an assigned Journeyperson Welder
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints or welding process specifications
  • Operating manual, semi-automatic welding and/or flame-cutting equipment
  • Repairing worn out parts
  • Working safely and efficiently as a team member in a busy machining, fabrication, and welding shop

What are the job requirements?

  • Currently enrolled in a Welding apprenticeship program
  • Experience utilizing a variety of hand and power tools
  • Successfully complete a comprehensive Drug, Alcohol, and Audiometric pre-employment testing
  • Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO); or OSSA BSO Certificate, or a combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional certificates
  • Must be physically fit, position involves extensive walking, carrying heavy materials, climbing and awkward positions.
