RETENTION ALERT!

Temporary Retention Program effective until January 31st, 2023:

The Incentive Program consists of an additional $80/day for this position – paid weekly. To receive incentive, “days worked” will be defined as minimum 4 hrs of work on site.

The Retention Program offers an additional $25/day, paid by January 31st, 2023 (or following corresponding pay period), or upon release by the employer (end of project).

Jardeg is recruiting Welder apprentices to work as Welder Helpers at the Imperial Oil Kearl Lake site near Fort MacKay, Alberta. The shift schedule is 14 days on, 14 days off, 11.5 hours per day. Charter flights are provided from Calgary and Edmonton in addition to bussing from Fort McMurray.

A Welder apprentice may be expected to do the following:
Join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components

Make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and assist to weld parts, tools, machines and equipment

Assist welders in use of different welding processes and fillers depending upon the type of metal, its size and shape, and requirements for finished product strength.

Develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints and work orders; clean, check for defects and shape component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch weld parts together.

Assist welders in setting up equipment, preparing tools.

Any other task required by welders.

Position Qualifications:
Active welding apprenticeship through an accepted governing body

Knowledge of Welding

CSTS-2020/09

Standard First Aid

Fire Watch

Basic Rigging

Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence

Employees at Kearl must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19

Previous Oil and Gas experience would be considered an asset
