Overview

Duties include:

  • Manufacturing of parts, weldments and assemblies for mobile wheelchair lifts and other equipment
  • Welding, fitting, jig-making
  • GMAW, GTAW processes in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Other metal manufacturing tasks as assigned, including: sawing, punching, bending, fitting, grinding, assembling, testing, shipping/receiving, quality control and other manufacturing tasks.

This position would be ideal for anyone wishing to gain experience with a variety of manufacturing processes. Most hours would count towards an apprenticeship in the metal trades. We are willing to train a candidate with a great attitude.

The initial term for this position is 4 months with a high likelihood of becoming permanent.

Requirements:

  • Top priorities: must have solid work ethic, be willing to take direction, and get along well with others in a team environment
  • Must have prior experience/training in metalworking or machine manufacturing
  • Must have experience/training reading technical drawings in English
  • Must be punctual, show attention to detail, and have safe work habits
  • Must be fit, with the ability to lift 50lb up to 10/day
  • Steel toe shoes required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
