PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Reporting into the appropriate site supervisor, the Welder will be responsible to produce welds that are both visually and mechanically sound and of high quality, ensuring Aecon Industrial Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welding usually involves applying heat to metal pieces to melt and fuse them together
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Operate brazing and soldering equipment
  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
  • Join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components, make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines and equipment

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Certified Journeyman Ticket or indentured in the apprenticeship program
  • CWB ticket (SMAW) – able to weld structural
  • Manual dexterity
  • The ability to get along well with others on a work team
  • Must be willing to work in remote job locations
  • Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site

  • Continuously changing work tasks
  • Ability to work a significant amount of hours throughout the day
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 17kg
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00-$49.00 per hour
