Established in 1979, Toro Aluminum has become a leader in the development and manufacturing of window walls and doors for high-rise condominiums, office buildings and hotels, across Canada, the United States, and Mexico

REPORTING

The Welder reports directly to the Production Supervisor of Commdoor. The available shift is Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 4PM. This position is for a 3-Month Contract.

JOB SUMMARY

The Welder will be accountable for setting up and operating MIG welding machines to fabricate aluminum parts as per the specifications in a reliable and safe manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Must be able to create and set up jigs as required
  • Must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
  • Must be able to examine welds and ensure that they meet the specifications
  • Inspect end product to ensure accuracy is maintained
  • Complete all required paperwork in a correct and timely manner
  • Work with supervisors to complete tasks on time with capacity requirements
  • Keep track of inventory usage for welding consumables.
  • Ability to monitor number of parts produced versus daily business needs.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety requirements set out by company not restricted to PPE, ventilation, and perimeter barriers.
  • Ability to use and have knowledge of hand tools, drill presses, grinders, and metal polishing.
  • Must be flexible to perform other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid CWB tickets for MIG (Aluminum & Steel) Welding
  • Ability to read tape measures, calipers, protractors & blueprints
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in MIG Aluminum welding
  • Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Effective and professional communication skills-verbal and written
  • Detailed oriented and ability to multitask
