Location: 7514 Albonson Rd, Houston TX
Shift: Monday- Friday 6am-2:30pm or 2:30pm-11:15pm (depending on availability)
Start Pay: $20.65/hr
Job Description
Summary Set up, operate, or tend welding and/or robotic machines to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Operate and set-up all welding equipment with minimal instruction.
Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
Fabricate, join, and/or repair equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures using MIG and/or Robotic welding techniques.
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
Prepare all material surfaces to be welded.
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, remove rough spots, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years’ experience in welding
Must be able to read shop drawings and instructions; to accurately use and read measuring tools
Work in a fast-paced environment in order to keep up with production requirements

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat and often exposed to the risk of radiation. The employee is frequently exposed to vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
