Overview

Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Assist the shop/fleet department with welding, fabrication, basic maintenance, and shop upkeep and organization

Stick welding, MIG welding (wire feed), TIG welding

Metal experience (plasma cutting), Torch cutting

Fabrication

Trailer and trailer frame repairs

Repairs on heavy equipment and other equipment for construction job sites

Carry out work functions in a safe manner at all times.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • 1-2 years’ experience with vehicle or heavy equipment maintenance or repair (preferred)
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background, and MVR check.
  • Experience with various hand tools including but not limited to: welding equipment, power and compressed air tools (impact wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, etc.), pressure washer, shop-vac, etc.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or sit for long periods; handle and manipulate controls on a repetitive basis. Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites. Ability to climb in and out of equipment, ability to lift 40 lbs.

Environmental Adaptability:
Work outside in all weather conditions, and various locations and times of day. Hard hat, hearing and eye protection, Hi-visibility clothing required.
