Overview

EHC is seeking a Welder/Fabricator for our oil/gas service company client located in Beaumont, TX. This facility manufactures and services intervention/stimulation equipment and tubing.

The Welder/Fabricator reports to the Fabrication Manager, fabricates pipe/metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
– Complete inspection of pipe, connectors and welding consumables
– Complete disposition accordance with procedure for control of nonconforming product/materials that is found discrepant
– Validate that pipe and/or connector are accurate to job order including dimensions, material grade of pipe/connector
– Verify JO# to Forging
– Verify JO to Joint Number
– Complete weld in accordance with job order, WPS and engineering specifications – Beveling pipe ends as necessary
– Alignment
– Tack welding as necessary
– Preheat
– Read and understand WPS (welding procedure specification)- SMAW
– FCAW
– SAW
– GMAW
– Perform welding processes- Burn holes, fit, and weld lift rings.
– Operate Sting Ray welding machines.
– Operate beveling machine.
– Use hand torch and track torch.
– Fit/weld lift eyes and eye pads.
– Perform Fabrication requirements on shop routers with minimal supervision.
– Train welder helper’s in accordance with XL Systems welding procedures
– Accurately mark pipe with unique identification marker
– Visually inspect and make repairs to each connector or pipe as required
– Prior to start of job review machine for proper operations
– Maintain equipment so that it is in proper functioning condition
– Complete shift production reports by reviewing/checking work to ensure that is complete accurate and legible.
– Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe, shop and production area
– Work with and communicate with 3rd party inspectors
– Carry out job requirements in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
– Responsible for and the authority to generate non-compliance reports, corrective action and/or preventative actions in accordance with the appropriate operating procedure(s).
– Responsible for and the authority to maintain and promote a safe working environment in accordance with the appropriate HSE procedure(s).
– Participate in actions which promote a safety and quality culture within NOV
– Comply with all Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures
– Ensure compliance of the company’s overall objectives
– Other duties as assigned by Fabrication Supervisor and/or Fabrication Manager

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
– 2 years working as a SubArc Welder
– 2 years in manufacturing environment preferred.
– Solid understanding of ASME quality work.
– Experience with Blueprints and schematics
– Knowledge of job procedures and tools
– Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose calculating material machining

– Must be able to stand and work in adverse conditions (outside in all types of weather or inside in a manufacturing environment) for a minimum of 8 hours.
– Must be able to use simple measuring instruments

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS BACKGROUD AND DRUG SCREENING

MUST HAVE HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour
