Ocean Pacific Marine is the most comprehensive marine store and boatyard on Northern Vancouver Island. Serviced by a 110ton Marine Travelift, Ocean Pacific Marine has been providing parts and service to recreational boaters and commercial vessels in the Campbell River area since 1985. Boatyard projects vary in scope from local recreational & commercial vessels to Department of National Defense & Government of Canada vessels including Coast Guard & RCMP.
We are currently accepting applications for a:
· Welder/Fabricator
The welding department at Ocean Pacific Marine performs work including the construction, refit and modification of steel and aluminum vessels. We are a CWB Steel & Aluminum certified company. We have recently been awarded a seven-year refit contract with the Canadian Coast Guard and are looking to grow our welding team.
The Welder/Fabricator performs work on marine vessels and their components. Work would include the refit of existing vessels and construction of new. The ideal candidate is a Red Seal Welder and/or Fabricator with current CWB welder qualifications. However, candidates with experience in lieu of training will be considered. Experience working with aluminum in a marine refit environment is highly preferred.
This is a full-time, permanent Monday-Friday position. Competitive hourly wage plus extended medical & dental benefits.
