Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
  • Prefer candidate with GMAW and GTAW experience in aluminum and steel
  • Utilize handheld tools such as a hand held screw gun, drill gun, and grinders
  • Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tool
  • Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods * Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times
  • Maintain inventory of manufacturing product and welding consumables
  • Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualification requirements

  • Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
  • Specific technical or vocational training or certification along with knowledge of marine construction preferred.
  • Work in a team environment and respect all teammates

Physical demands and abilities

  • Must have ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods of time in a non climate controlled environment.
  • Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
  • Knowledge of the Piranha Ironworks machinery and knowledge of the HEM Saw Automatic Band Saw with Ability to also operate a fork-lift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour
