Job Description Summary

The Welder Fitter will be responsible for welding and fitting metal parts together according to specifications, as well as inspecting completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

Reading blueprints, sketches, diagrams, or other drawings to determine work requirements

Cutting and positioning materials needed for welding projects, using a torch or other tools

Inspecting welds for quality and defects, using appropriate tooling

Inspecting equipment for damage or defects, replacing parts as needed to maintain efficiency

Reading and interpreting codes, symbols, and schematics to determine proper setup and procedures

Installing and repairing welding equipment, such as torches and wire feeders, to ensure proper operation

Operating welding equipment to weld or cut aluminum, stainless steel, and/or steel

Following safety guidelines and procedures while working with hazardous materials

Requirements

Strong attention to detail

Ability to pass AWSD D1.1 full penetration weld in flat position

Excellent manual dexterity

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints

Ability to perform basic math skills accurately

Ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
