Covia is looking for a dynamic Journeyman- Welder/Fitter at its Nepheline Syenite Operation located at the Nephton facility location.

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:

Demonstrate the safe operation of the CNC Plasma Cutter. Including knowledge of layout and design as required

Demonstrate the safe operation of the CNC rolls

Demonstrate the safe operation of the Handheld Plasma Cutter

Demonstrate the safe operation of the shop small rolls

Demonstrate the safe operation of the CNC Brake

In good physical condition and be able to lift 50lbs

Demonstrate the safe operation of a handheld grinder

Demonstrate the safe operation of a drill press

Demonstrate the safe operation of a handheld drill

Demonstrate the safe operation of the Shear

Demonstrate the safe operation of the Iron Worker

Demonstrate the safe operation and maintenance of Oxy/Acetylene Torches

Demonstrate the safe operation and set up of the Arc Air Gouging Equipment for Pocket, Truck Box and Bucket maintenance

Demonstrate the setup and maintenance of a MIG welder for various shop tasks

Demonstrate the proper set up and execution of various shop welding jobs using proper MIG Techniques

Demonstrate the ability to set up different styles of Arc Welders for various tasks. Some examples may include patching or pocket repairs

Demonstrate the ability to interpret various Blueprints

Demonstrate the ability to lead other team members in various jobs

Demonstrate the ability to inspect and examine equipment failures and make recommendations for sustainable repair solutions

Demonstrate the ability to plan material and manpower for repairs as well as creating parts list, accurate estimations for fabrication/installation time, hoisting and rigging plans and required equipment

Demonstrate Proficiency in welding MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux Core all Positions

Demonstrate the ability to Understand and Execute Intricate welding procedures

Demonstrate the ability to measure and execute layout for the following but not limited to; Elbows, “Y” Branches, Square to Rounds, Cones

Contributes to identifying improvement opportunities in technical/industrial work processes.

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

Hold a valid Journeyman trade certification in Welder/Fitter
