Our Team

This position is for our Divisional Shops department.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance (Welder/Fitter) to join our Divisional Shops team in Sudbury.

The purpose of this role is to continuously improve the work team (crew) performance through effective use of established processes and procedures at various plants or mines within the Sudbury area. As a Supervisor, Maintenance, you will be accountable for supervising a crew and executing the work for the Divisional Shops group and or planning the work. This position will be located at Divisional Shops.

Accountabilities :
Key Accountabilities as a Supervisor:
Hold crew accountable for area Safety behavior, housekeeping, teamwork and professionalism.

Supervise and coordinate the “maintenance work” components of the Asset Management Framework.

Ensure planned work orders are closed with completion codes and comments for future analysis.

Carryout tasks while on shift on behalf of the Superintendent and as such assists the Superintendent in achieving the overall area targets for his/her area of accountability.

Work within budget, guidelines and standards and execute Safety and Maintenance Plans as established by the Superintendent.

Work with the crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.

Work collaterally and cross functionally, with colleagues, engineering, production, and services to achieve the objectives of Divisional Shops.

Key Accountabilities as a Planner:
Execute the “Plan Work” element of the Asset Management

Review work order status on a daily basis: To assist in prioritizing planning work and to track upcoming work.

Plan approved work orders (within area of responsibility) for resource procurement and execution prior to the Required By Date.

Incorporate crew input into planning packages.

Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful planning of work orders for completion by their Required By Date.

Plan work to minimize the impact on operating performance and demand for resources without exceeding the Required By Date for work completion.

Develop and use work templates to improve the efficiency of the planning process.

Exhibit effective Team Leadership and Team Membership behaviors.

Work as a relief supervisor as required.

About You

Education:
Government license (RSE) in General Machining or Welder- Fitter Trade.

The ideal candidate will have a college diploma in Maintenance Trades.

Engineering degree in a related discipline would be an asset.

Experience in SAP would be an asset

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience leading a crew in a Machinist or Welder-Fitter trade, maintenance, or operations discipline in an industrial setting.

Shift Schedule:
Monday-Friday, Potential days and afternoons shift work (7:30 pm–3:30 am & 3:00pm-11:00 pm.)
