McCloskey International is a leading international provider of industrial equipment in the screening and crushing industry with a complete line of equipment including crushers, vibrating screeners, trommels, and staking conveyors https://mccloskeyinternational.com/ We are currently seeking Welder-fitters for our day shift.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviewing work orders and manufacturing standards, following production drawings and assembly instructions
  • Studying engineering drawings and blueprints, determining the materials required and planning the sequence of tasks
  • Assembling and fitting metal sections to form complete units or subunits using welding and other fabrication methods
  • Setting up and operating heavy duty metal working machines including torches, drills, dye grinder, grinders, hammers, levels, plasma cutters and overhead cranes
  • Operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux-cored arc welding, plasma arc welding, shielded metal arc welding, oxy-acetylene welding, resistance welding and submerged arc welding
  • Operating manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Operating brazing and soldering equipment
  • Operating metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
  • Repairing worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
  • Operating previously set up welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gas and arc welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts
  • Operating previously set up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal part or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal articles with solder
  • Reporting any real or potential safety/health hazards, accidents, incidents or near misses to the Supervisor, and conducting daily inspections of the work area
  • Observing all legislated Health and Safety regulations as well as establishing workplace safety procedures
  • Cooperating with the Joint Health and Safety Committee in any Safety Program Review
  • Working in compliance with all Administrative, Health and Safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in company policies.

EDUCATION:

This position requires a high school education or the equivalent. Trade training or Certification in Welding is desirable but not required where candidates demonstrate equivalent work performance based on practical experience.

EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5 years’ previous welding experience
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assembly, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, technical drawings and procedural manuals
  • Experience welding various types of metals including stainless steel, mild and heavy steel and copper
  • Experience with Oxy-Acetylene welding
  • Experience with large welding power tools used in factory settings, including drills and saws,
  • Strong mathematical and mechanical skills
  • Fluent in English, written and oral

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Full-time, Permanent

WAGE:
CAD $24.50 per hour, based on 42 hours of work per week. Eligibility for annual salary increase and performance-based bonus.
