Welder Foreman/Supervisor
Job Overview
Looking for a Welding Foreman/Supervisor who will be part of our management team. All qualified applicants will combine management skills with an extensive knowledge of welding processes, welding and fitting economics and safely to deliver welding and fitting projects according to schedule and budget. Applicant’s will also possess the ability to demonstrate appropriate level of experience with pressure vessel welding and fitting.
Welding foreman/supervisor responsibilities include:
· Leads and oversees daily work of welders/fitters
· Monitors and controls material, equipment, and supplies
· Communicates concerns and problems to shop foreman/superintendent
· Communicates daily quality and procedural issues with the work team
· Review project design drawings and ensures welding/fitting processes and procedures are identified for fabrication of the product
· Implements and ensures verbatim compliance with project plans and procedures
· Manages project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of work
· Ability to analyze and decipher projects on hand and relay to team members
· Have critical thinking skills
· Anticipates potential problem areas and recommends solutions or corrective action
· Integrate into company work culture and established task procedures
· Ability to learn individual personalities and the keys to achieving the best response to direction
· Earn the respect of fellow employees, and understand their individual levels of ability and knowledge
· Welding, grinding, beveling, arc gouger, flame cutting, plasma torch
· Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, forklifts
· Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements of the Welding foreman/supervisor:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an ASME section VIII environment performing similar welding/fitting tasks
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or managerial position
- Possess ability above basic welder and fitter skills
- Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Basic mathematic ability to add and subtract fractions, decimals, and whole numbers
- Must demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance
- Must have a VALID Driver license
- Comply to drug screening
- Comply to background check
- Must pass work physical
