Position Overview:
Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a dedicated Welder who will be responsible for a variety of welding related duties in a service orientated environment. This position is based in the Fort McMurray Oil Sands region at the Fort McKay Shop.
This position will work a 14×14, 12-hour continuous shift rotation. If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Welder certification then you are exactly who we are looking for!
Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
Ensure jobs are planned, organized and all required parts and tooling are accessible
Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled
Examine and diagnose machine defects, repair damage and cracks when necessary
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
Maintain safe work practices
Assist in training, directing and development of team members on the job
Other work assigned as required
Qualifications & Experience:
Journeyperson Welder Technician certification
Certified in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
CWB tickets will be considered an asset
Individual will be highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Ability to work well under pressure
Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing will be necessary for successful candidacy
Line boring experience will be considered an asset
Previous field experience will be considered an asset
Notes:
This position is located at our Fort McKay branch on a 14×14 continuous shift (camp provided)
Hourly rate: $53.41 – $55.91 / hour
Regional Wage Allowance: 12%
Boot Allowance: $300 / year
Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement.
Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
