Overview
Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for welding and assembling metal components and must be able to visualize what the finished product should look like.
Essential Function/Responsibilities:
Receives instructions, prints and/or work orders for jobs to be completed to customer specifications.
Plans work by interpreting blueprints.
Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals.
Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
Set up, operate and maintain welding equipment.
Responsible for operating and/or using related equipment and tools to include forklifts, grinders, cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches and tape measures.
Responsible for keeping work area clean and orderly.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:
1 – 2 years related experience and/or training.
Must have experience with non-mag steel.
Must have experience with spray and fused tiles.
Experience with MIG/TIG welding is a plus.
Must have good hand and eye coordination to accomplish the job accordingly.
Strong knowledge of metals, mechanical components and assemblies, welding methods and processes.
Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
