Welder Helper / General Labourer

You are a part of the bigger picture and an integral part to our high-quality standards! Our Welder Helpers are responsible for grinding and chipping weld slag from small to large fabricated piece parts while staying in compliance with strict specifications.

Your Objective:

  • In addition to grinding and chipping, you will work closely with our knowledgeable Welders to learn basic welding concepts and their applications.
  • Welder Helpers may have an opportunity for long-term career development if they:

  • Consistently meets or exceeds expectations.
  • This position will provide general assistance to all areas of manufacturing.

Your Benefits:

  • Work under the guidance and mentorship of experienced welders

  • Only a 4 day work week (Monday to Thursday)

Success Requires:

  • Ability to take instructions and a strong willingness to learn the welding trade.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude, initiative, the ability to work well with others and minimal supervision.
  • 2 to 3 years’ labourer experience;
  • A grade twelve diploma or equivalent is a requirement;
  • Related trade certificate or courses from a recognized post-secondary institution is beneficial;
  • Must have mechanical abilities and experience using measuring instruments;
  • Ability to read blueprints and diagrams an asset
  • Forklift and Crane experience is an asset
