Welder I

Position Summary: This position requires highly skilled welder capable of performing all processes of welding for the purpose of joining metals and weld build up on finish or semi-finished

machine parts of various shape and sizes. Welding process included but not limited to, are SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW. The Welder will ensure the highest possible welding operations whether being performed in the shop or at customer job site.

Essential Responsibilities:
Must have experience welding on Steam Turbine parts

Work from Blueprints, Verbal instructions & Route tags; determine where and how much weld to apply, perform Lay out work and demonstrate a workable proficiency with Oxy/Acet cutting equipment.

Have a solid working knowledge of rigging principles and equipment; overhead cranes, nylon slings, wire rope, shackles, spreader bars and coordinated lifting and up ending

heavy objects.

Through knowledge of shop measuring devices; scales, squares, levels, protractors, micrometers, Vernier and digital calipers.

Positive attitude toward cleanliness, neatness, quality and quantity of work as well as a healthy respect for the comfort and safety of others.

Perform all aspects of quality welding and have good troubleshooting abilities

Able to weld small and large components using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW processes

Ensure work orders are accurately captured by consulting blueprints and sketches

Assesses equipment & materials and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods

Monitors equipment for appropriate usage and temperature

Operates specialized machinery for welding industry

Maintain work area and keep equipment clean and orderly

Utilize tools and technology provided in an effective and efficient manner

Willing to attend on‐going training to further professional development

Ensure communication with customers, suppliers, vendors and co‐workers are professional and appropriate.

Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends and work well with others

Fit for duty in a clean and presentable manner.

Able to travel within the continental US, outside the US a plus.

Help on various other welding and other shop duties with little to no supervision

This position is responsible for adherence to all safety rules, regulations and the required personal protective equipment/ testing set forth by the employer.

Job Qualifications

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent

Trade school a plus

Work Experience:
5‐ year Welding experience

Preferred knowledge of power industry

Certifications/Licenses:
Valid Driver License and Passport
